How it started? I had to wait at a gate for an Mazda 5 pace car to follow to the actual event location and following him was amazing. He just floored it and took the first corner hard. At first Iike "He must be joking." and he wasn't. If I didn't keep up I would be left out, so I pushed it. We were driving over 120 km/h on one part of the top speed bank at one point and I followed him with ease in corners. What a start already!

At the event we were given a short speech and some historical courses about Mazda's logos. We got split into 2 groups to test the cars.

I drove a MX5, 3, 2 and 6 on a autocross layout where we were instructed to drive flat out. Here's what I learned:

The MX-5 feels the same as mine except everything is a bit tighter (new car duh), there's less body roll and the seat/interior is MUCH MUCH more comfy with all the soft paddings, it actually reminded me of a 370z interior quality wise. Brakes are the same actually, they don't bite much but they stop!

The 3 is as great as the one I had on the corners. Still, the acceleration was a bit of a disappointement.

The 6 felt heavy, but it was MUCH better than most cars in the same segment for the steering feel. Again, the acceleration is not amazing.

The 2 was actually the surprise here. Mazda 2=NA Miata. There I SAID IT. The MX5 was nowhere as tossable as the 2. The brakes were amazing compared the others too. It gave me a huge smile on my face and it made me seriously considering one if I ever need to get something really cheap!

But enough bla bla. Have some rotaries that I saw there!

People were joyful, we talked to each other with no problems. It was sweet. Hell, even my MX5 made a friend while I left.

And I got this power bank as a gift! It's really useful!

I was quite satisfied and again, I'm really, REALLY considering a Mazda 2 now!
